Place 1: Shannon Probe

Shannon Probe is a current at-home parent, an educator, advocate, and community leader. She is joined on her adventures by her spouse Austin, two young children, and rescue dog Charlie.

Shannon has a long history of public education advocacy starting as a secondary Spanish teacher and Department Head.  After leaving the classroom she connected with a variety of grassroots community organizations to improve equity within Round Rock ISD.  Ms. Probe is actively engaged in Anti-Racists Coming Together, Access Education RRISD, El Amistad Club of Round Rock, and RRISD’s Parent Teacher Association.  She is a recent City of Round Rock UniverCity graduate where she learned all the operations, goals, and structures that make the city run.  Shannon has found Round Rock to be an excellent community to build fellowship and organize enriching activities for her young family.

Shannon Probe is native to central Texas and is eager to serve her community in an effort to embrace equitable and sustainable growth. She is passionate about community engagement and wants to make sure that every person in Round Rock has a voice.

Place 4: Frank Ortega

Frank Ortega joined the Round Rock City Council in December 2020 following the November election.

Frank Ortega is a Texas native and a product of a military family.  He has called central Texas his home for over 35 years.  He is joined by his wife, Victoria, and cocker spaniel named Buddy. 

Mr. Ortega is a trusted leader not only in the business world but within the community organizations he volunteers for.   He is actively engaged in Round Rock Police Training Provider Advisory Board, Capital Area Council of Governments, Hispanics Organized for Political Education, El Amistad Club of Round Rock, Kiwanis Club of Round Rock, Austin Rodeo and League of United Latin American Citizens.  Frank is excited to continue to serve the community in his current City Council board position while celebrating Round Rock’s successes and finding sustainable and equitable solutions for its future.
